Who am I

With a foundation of art as an Advertising Artist Graduate in Winnipeg, MB, I have spent over a decade honing my craft in the comic book colouring industry at Digital Chameleon and then freelancing for five years.

My work blends creativity and precision, capturing the beauty of nature and the elegance of structures with a unique, soft touch.

My passion for art shines through my specialty in creating serene landscapes and intricate architectural scenes, specifically home portraits, using the delicate techniques of watercolour and soft pastel.

HOME SWEET HUE

I’ve been taking inspiration from the century homes in my neighbourhood since 2019. As I regularly jog past them, I feel the urge to capture their character on paper. By portraying their personality and revealing the craftsmanship and values of the time, I venture to create a historic time capsule of sorts.

In all of my countless home commissions, I have attempted to develop a way to capture the essence of the character of the client’s home in which nostalgia and pride can be evident.

Sunset at Grand Beach 11x14” $50

Summer holidays takes us, often, to Grand Beach. Camping at the East beach is an experience like no other…cycling on the trails, running up the sand dunes, the seagulls swirling above, finding frogs and keeping them for just a while until they escape with a hop. Before we realize, the sun starts to drop! We race to the beach to catch the beauty and when we get over the rolling dunes …it’s breathtaking, the timing is perfect! Off come the shoes! It’s easier to walk and the cool sand feels therapeutic. I search for a few ‘good shots’ to paint later in the year, while my 5 kids horse around. It’s a beautiful evening so we stay until the sun melts into the water line and the air cools.

In our neighbourhood, on Harvard, there’s three consecutive homes that share a rink and enjoy weekly community hockey games with strings of lights illuminating the fresh ice. The parents enjoy a hot beverage on the sidelines. This is Winnipeg.
